Description
Computer Memory ~ A monochrome photographic abstract of a Ferrite Memory Core plane from an early IBM mainframe computer. This close-up image shows a grid of fine wire threaded through tiny magnetic ferrite rings called cores. Magnetic core memory, a type of random-access memory (RAM), was introduced in 1955 and succeeded in the 1970s by solid-state memory in integrated circuits.

Congratulations Rona! Your astonishing image represents the spirit of the group Electronics And Mechanics that I want to convey! There is a thank you thread on the discussions tab if you would like to archive it there.

I can see that this would be of interest to a computer geek but it also makes a terrific abstract. Looks like the set up for a weaving or something. Congratulations on the sale.
