Description
Who can forget the elegant lines of Concordes delta wings, or the roar of her four Olympus engines?
For 27 glorious years, Concorde carried passengers at supersonic speeds in superlative style. Developed in a joint project by British Aerospace Corporation and Aerospatiale, Concorde entered commercial service in 1976 and flew to destinations around the world, regularly making the transatlantic crossing from London to New York in just under 3 1/2 hours. Concorde had a cruising speed of Mach 2.04 (1,354 mph/2,179 kph), more than twice the speed of conventional aircraft, while her maximum altitude of 60,000 feet (18,000 m) enabled passengers to see the curvature of the earth!
Concorde regularly flew to Barbados during the winter holiday season, and the aircraft depicted in this painting, G-BOAE, made her last flight on 17 November 2003, carrying 70 members of British Airways staff, landing at Bridgetowns Grantley Adams International Airport, where a special Concorde exhibition centre has been set up.

I'm back...I just realized this is a painting, not a photograph. Obviously you've achieved great details in this piece!

Super image. It's hard to believe that it's been a decade since her last flight. So much for advances in technology! L/F
