Country Hills And Farm Dams
Sculpture - Glass Stainless Steel Rubber Rainforest Remnants News Paper
This panel shows the scarring hills and the underside of the hill the other side of the panel, it can be seen that the dams have Rainforest remnants in the dry empty hole.
It has been so dry here in the hills of Tasmania. A drought lasting 20 weeks in summer and 20 weeks in winter;. The Rain forest is stressed and the groundwater is disappearing. It is exacerbated by the tree plantations as they are sucking up all the available water. This was one of the highest rainfall areas in Tasmania and the cleanest in the world but in 16 years I have watched the gradual change in the landscape and know that we are the cause of this problem. I am not a scientist. I am very aware and close to nature. I have eyes that see. I see the dams drying up, the ground cracking wide open, the Rain-forest is dying, biodiversity is gone, intense insect attacks on the trees, unpredictable seasons, and industry taking over the landscape, log trucks on the road, people have less freedoms to express themselves and our children have server asthma attacks. Gone are the small farms, the country initiatives and the community dances. most people are depressed and farmers are committing suicide all over the world.
