Hi Ken, this cow is a technique you used here not every artist can do. This cow shows depth , the right values I love her eyes the hair, the twinkle in the eye on our right heres looking at you

Thank you ever so much for commenting Mary !!! That's exactly the reason I painted this picture. Back in the state of Maine at the age of four my sister, cousins and I all lived in a very old country Home. We headed out back and crossed through my uncle's fence out to a big wood pile in my uncle's cow field. Cows being of curious nature came over to see us. This is exactly how cows look at that age.

Great point of view! It reminds me of visits to my uncle's farm when I was a kid looking up to to the cows and horses. LF P

Ken, this painting is wonderful! I love the perspective as they are so curious when approached, just like this one! Your detail and contrast in the hair is really perfect. This cow's eyes are spot on with dimension! Very, very good!

Love this one Ken, and the story about where you lived. I grew up on a farm and love cows!

I like this painting, Ken! It looks like the cow has come up to the fence to say: "Moo!" or "Hello!" in its own animal language and to nuzzle its nose on your hand, as if to ask you for a treat! They are such trusting and calm animals, for the most part. I have had the privilege of having them as "neighbors", as there is a herd of cows that comes up to our fence line on one of our properties in Tennessee!
Ken Day replied:
Thank you ever so much Kimberlee for such a beautiful comment as this. Cow are everything you say they are and so much more, Each with their own individual moods. I know cows very well as I once lived in the middle of a cow field and would park my car outside the field. Put on my rubber boots and walk home. It may not seem like a dream world Kimberlee but it was for me. We'd greet each other in the morning time and latter on that day. I had a beautiful garden and plants growing everywhere. The cows would love when I'd pick them something fresh out of my garden for them as a treat. But more so then that Kimberlee they would love to play. When a cow plays it reminds me of a small dog in nature. I had to make sure they didn't get too rambunctious as I was afraid they might hurt themselves be such a big animal jumping up and down. I've moved from there but the wonderful memories of my beautiful neighbors will always be with me. I should've had pictures of the days like when getting dressed up for a wedding holding my dress shoes in hand wearing my suit, rubber boots and walking with the cows.
