Creepy spider..it is eating something..Great capture..V/F
Carol Senske replied:
Yup - geometer caterpillar for dinner, well, actually lunch. Thank you for giving these guys a V/F!

Great shot. Is it eating a caterpillar?
Carol Senske replied:
It has a geometer moth caterpillar. These caterpillars love flowers so the spiders know to sit and wait in a leaf axil, for instance, until some unsuspecting bug comes along and offers itself up as a meal. Thanks for the generous words!

Beautiful capture, Carol - I have never seen this kind of spider !!! Faved ;)
Carol Senske replied:
Hi, Claire:>) I trust winter is treating you well and the snow is falling in just the right amount to be pretty, not a nuisance. These guys wander about, looking for hidey places to launch their ambush from. Crab spider, in general, are strong, and these are no exception. Kind of tough looking - like mini tanks - LOL. Thanks a bunch for the kind comment and the fave!!!!!
