Description:
This painting is about Dragonfire and kindling this energy within ourselves. It?s always there, but often is in a dormant state. Envision dragons as positive symbols of inner power. In this painting the twins represent the dream world and the waking world, and the dualistic aspects of the goddess. All artists have an aspect of the Creatix within themselves. The archetypal images of dragon and mother goddess were used because of their classic roles associated with power, protection, and strength. Invariable they are guarding something precious.
Here is part of the story I wrote about this painting, as f spoken by the goddesses.
?The dragon race is secretive, cherishing solitude. Time and again we make the arduous journey in order to seek them out, sometimes to the inner realms, other times traversing time and space seeking their caves and subterranean lairs ? the dragon folk receive few guests these days. Quietly, respectfully, we bring them fragrant blossoms, tender buds and fragile, new green shoots. Once they see we mean them no harm, dragons uncoil themselves and relax. Together, we compose poetry, music, create art and infuse it with life. Afterward we sit in silence and admire the view, for no words are necessary?.
