Vintage wooden carved frame with creepy doll face. Perhaps a creepy looking relative?
They wondered how such a beautiful old house could be had for such a low price. Sure the place needed fixing up, the lawn was covered with overgrown weeds, the apple trees need trimming, the old herb garden was a total loss and need to be reborn.
Inside the musty old wallpaper would be torn down, the whole place dusted, the old antique furniture and artwork, cleaned, dusted and evaluated for keeping or selling. Some of this old junk might be worth a fortune on Ebay. Who knows? Maybe we'll get enough for a new dining room set?
One of the first things to take down are those creepy old pictured of, I guess, the former residents? There is one picture in particular that sends shivers up and down my spine every time I see it. I can never remember what room its in.
Just when I think I recall it in the hallway, it startles me in the library. Unless there are multiple copies. But why would anyone want more than one print of that scary looking child. Must have died in childhood. I did recall seeing a marker stone in the back of the property by a big old oak tree with a bit of what's left of a old wooden picket fence.
Oh, here it is again in the dining room. Did anyone move it in here? Hmmm, I'd like to put it up in the attic but it seems stuck to the wall somehow. I'll have to get that handyman to work on it next week. Strange how the wall seems warm around the frame. Maybe the sunlight was hitting the wall or the water pipes run up behind here.......... - Edward M. Fielding www.edwardfielding.com
