Crossing The Stream
Tapestry - Textile - Batik On Silk Fabric
This is an early batik (on silk fabric) I did of my kids crossing a stream in Alaska. It was so full of salmon you could almost walk across on their backs. At the time we were living in a 10' x 19' tent as we built our cabin.
I worked mostly from a photo on this one. Batik uses wax and dyes to create designs on fabric. It was a gift to my mother.
