Photograph - Photography Digital Painting
This digital painting started off as a photograph I took in Lincoln cathedral (UK): I actually waited all day until the light shone through the stained glass windows to the side of the nave.
I then reworked the whole of the ceiling into a stained glass window ceiling and this is made out of a mosaic of reworked close up photographs of various structures( cast iron grid, sculptures of parts of Canterbury cathedral....) and also parts of some of my favourite paintings (Van Goghs crows in Wheatfield, church in Arles, some William Morris Floral...)
Then I incorporated another digital painting I prepared first of Christ on the cross created, in a prism of light.
I was delighted when this artwork was chosen for a CD cover and I have been commissioned to produce an oil painting of this image for a private collector.
