Description
Fine art scenic landscape photograph capturing the serpentine twists of Burr Trail as it twists through a cut below a massive monolith of Navajo sandstone in Utah's Waterpocket Fold.
This trail was originally developed in the 1800's by John Atlantic Burr to move his cattle from summer pasture on Cedar Mountain to winter pasture in Strike Valley and on to Bullfrog. The Burr Trail levels out in Strike Valley, joining with the Notom-Bullfrog Road in Capitol Reef National Park. In the background, slate-colored talus erodes from a mesa of Mancos shale. Beyond the mesa, the peak of the Henry Mountains rises to touch the clouds in a pretty blue sky.
