Description
After my mother passed away in 2010, I found a very light, tentative pencil sketch of two figures that she had drawn and captioned, "Dad, How do You Draw a Horse's Hoof? from the Memory Series." Thinking back, I remembered her showing me this sketch years ago and wanting me to finish it. "I have no idea how to draw this, especially how he holds the pallette. But I remember so clearly how when you were little you would ask your dad to help you learn to draw and paint." I regretted that I hadn't gotten around to finishing it for her and had forgotten all about it for so many years. Now, in 2011, Christmas was coming up I thought it would make a great present for my brother and sister. So, I scanned Mom's sketch and finished it on my tablet. I hope Mom would be pleased. It means so much to the family to see this expression of her love.

Ok, Dawn, I'm going directly to your site so I can comment. I'm having trouble with posting on Activity. Anyway, I love this painting and believe your Mom had to treasure it also. I can even see myself in the little girl, face beaming in adoration at her patient and loving Father explaining her how to paint. My father wasn't a painter but he had a workshop and he would build things for me as a hobby and I was always eager to learn. These colors are sweet but the painting itself has a homey, Rockwell feel that all little girls who thought their father walks on water can identify with. The radiant colors around the faces and painting only add to the enchantment. I love it so Fav/Vot and Watch!!
