Painting - Oil On Board
The Dahlia flower, native to Mexico, Central America and Columbia was first reported in 1525 to Philip II of Spain by the invaders that he sent into the New World. During the Victorian era, when the intricate language of flowers emerged, the Dahlia became known as a symbol for dignity and elegance, which I believe to have emerged because of its beautiful profile.
