Description
On this morning at the beach in Jökulsárlón, Iceland, I was interested to see how the ice would look without a nice glowing sunrise. Instead of a sunrise glow, we had cold, windy conditions and lots of dark stormy clouds on the horizon. Somehow, it made the blue ice appear even more blue to my eyes - something I was very excited to see.
This image shows a retreating wave heading back out to sea in a calm, relaxed pace... which was not the case. I was dancing! And if you're wondering... yes, I got wet on this morning too! :-) This image was captured during my recent winter workshop with Tony Prower on the south coast of Iceland.
How I Got The Shot
I used the recently learned "Magic Cloth" technique with visible results. I captured a few bracketed exposures as well but really liked the in-camera results I was seeing. After a few repititions with my black mouse pad, I was able to see a smooth exposure in my lcd screen. I shot a few more just to be sure, but by that time, I'd already captured the shot I was after.
