Description:
Days of Wine and Roses is a large tote knitted & felted with many gorgeous wool & novelty yarns & ribbons. The purples, pinks & fabulous contrasting colors compliment the total essence of this piece. Delicately surrounding the top edge are handstitched purple satin roses continuing the theme of Days of Wine and Roses. Two knitted/felted ICORD handles are knotted at each corner & two lovely purple, glass buttons adorn the top edge where two ICORD loops come gently over the top to catch the buttons. The interior is beautifully finished with two lovely pockets, magnetic snaps in the interior top edge, handbeaded trim around the top interior edge & a twice reinforced base covered in a gorgeous Wine and Roses fashion fabric. With this work I attempted to capture the essence of a couple in love seeking those carefree, intimate moments together with the Days of Wine and Roses (and You). The Days of Wine and Roses need never end & I created this tote with that in mind. The phrase "Days of Wine and Rose" is originally from the poem "Vitae Summa Brevis" by the English writer Ernest Sowson (1867-1900). "They are not long, the days of wine and roses; Out of a misty dream our path emerges for a while, then closes, within a dream." Roses may fade and die but the magical time of being in love will be remembered with The Days of Wine and Roses (and You).
