Torso from the statue of a female, probably the goddess Roma, which is estimated to have been 2.20 m. tall. The personification of the city of Rome, that is, the deified form of the Roman stat, was worshipped chiefly in cities of the Grrek Eastas early as the 2nd c. BC. In Thesaloniki, Roma's worship is referred to inscription of the 1st c. A.D., and was connected with the Community of Romans who had settled in the city. Hadrianic Age (117-138 A.D.)
