PD: Reproduction of 1924 oil on canvas painting by George Bellows: b. 1882 d. 1925. American painter of urban and city life - noted for his paintings of boxers. This painting depicts Jack Dempsey being knocked through the ropes by Luis Angel Firpo. Dempsey known as the " Manassa mauler " and Firpo as the " Bull of the Pampas ". Dempsey eventually won the fight by knocking out Firpo in an historic boxing match with both fighters being on the canvas several times.
