Tapestry - Textile - Needlework Design
Desislava is a real historical person from Bulgarian past. She is known as the most beautiful woman in bulgarian medieval art. She is displayed as a church patron of Boyana Church - a medieval Bulgarian Orthodox church situated on the outskirts of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Her portrait was painted in 1259 by unknown artist.
This work is inspired by the original Boyana's fresco and adapted to a needlework design by Stoyanka Ivanova. You can order it as a pattern or a kit at Solaria Gallery site ( www.Solaria-Gallery.com ) and stitch it for your home... Here are used only 46 colors - DMC cotton threads and metallic shades.
