The face of Michelangelo's David. Michelangelo depicted David "before the act", as he had Goliath in his gaze. This statue became a symbol of victory over tyranny for Florence, and the (real) statue stood here for 300 years. During a rebelion, a bench was thrown out of a window and broke David's left arm. The statue was moved to Accademia and the arm was repaired, it's still there today.
A replica stands here today.
