Description
This is painting number 2 on Filipino-American identity crisis.
The American and Filipino flags have been deconstructed in the background. The stripes of the American flag are represented as bars on the ground casting its shadows on the ground. The sky is full of stars but the 3 bright stars of the Philippine flag are not present anymore. The sun’s light is also fading in the horizon. The man looks at himself and finds only half of himself – only as an American. He drops the mirror, turns away, removes his loincloth and uses it as a scarf. He is now devoid of his Filipino identity. By doing this he unknowingly shows his behind – a source of ridicule and embarrassment to other Filipinos who sees him

Your paintings are interesting, but more so with the story or explanation you offer about your subject. Although I have not looked or read all your works, I begin to think that they could be formed into a book both for reading and seeing!

Thanks again Jack for the appreciation and your very positive comments. Thank you for taking time to read the descriptions. Yes, someday I might do that - make a book :-)
