Do I Matter
Mixed Media - Digital
I wondered about this the other day
I wondered about what people would say
They stop in the park as they pass by
To notice the statue of the lady nearby
She sits on her bench so serene and elegant
I stand nearby her in rags and tags all spent
They notice her curves and wonder ‘bout the artist
Whilst I stand here, in this, my hour of darkness
They notice every little thing they can see
But then I wonder, do they even see me?
They stand all around her and muse and chatter
And all the while I wonder, “do I really matter”?
Whom am I, to this work of art, in comparison?
Im only lost child, no more than a street urchin.
