At first I thought this was a photograph - what an absolutely brilliant painting - the stallions' gaze is fantastic - I don't think I have ever seen a better horse head portrait - Just exquisite.

Donna, I hope you do not get weary of receiving so many compliments but I just had to say how much i like this picture. So clear, so beautiful, detailed without looking too "photographic" and perfect in every way... Shine on Sister!

Don't Worry - what an apt title for such a comforting piece. At first glance, he looks like a horse whose trust you have to earn but once earned a horse who will be by your side for as long as his time on this earth will permit. Great contours of the face and texture of the mane. Well done.

Description:

This is a portrait study of a gorgeous saddlebred sire. Anyone who has ever handled a stallion knows the 'why' of the chain. He does look pretty intent! But, at a split second he could whirl around, particularly if the ladies are anywhere around. This painting belongs to one of the four owners of this sire. If you have never seen a saddlebred, their necks are like that of a giraffe which is not portrayed in this painting - something about the composition just did not fit. His neck is almost one and half times longer than the painting portrays.
