Congratulations on your sale, my dad was a ground chief for the P-61.

What a gorgeous painting! Pilot Bob Bolinder was all of 21 years old the night he shot down this Me-110, a FW-190 and a Heinkel 111. "Double Trouble" was written off after a landing accident in Liege, Belgium, on April 26, 1945. Bob's unit, the 422nd Night Fighter Squadron, downed 17 German aircraft during the Battle of the Bulge. Of the 742 P-61s built, only four survive today (one in China) and none are in flying condition. The Mid-Atlantic Aviation Museum in Reading, Pennsylvania, is about two years away, I understand, from having the Black Widow it's restoring able to fly. Google it; the story of the aircraft's recovery is fascinating.
