Your knowledge of animal anatomy is fantastic. I tried to get my students to understand how important it was to understand the importance of understanding the structure within in order to produce the object outside but it was so hard. They always wanted to do abstract, and again I would tell them that you can't abstract until you understand the reality first. I would try and do the analogy of building houses or engines without any knowledge, but no go. Your work, all of it, is fabulous.

Thanks Linda S. and to answer your question the watercolor and the colored pencil kinda go on together. I start with watercolor washes.. then add some detail with the pencil.. then more washes.. more pencil.. and so on till I get what I want. Then I quit. Does that help any?

Wow! I am gone for awhile and look how much you have done! Great work! Barbara, I am curious, do you work on the watercolor first, then add the color pencil?
