I started this painting in 2002. It was just a rough sketch using my good ol’ charcoal pencil….and then I seemed to have lost the inspiration to continue applying oil paint on it…..I even told myself I can’t even get to draw the nose and eyes right, so I left the canvas in a corner and totally forgot about it……(Okay, okay…honestly, blame my loss of inspiration to a heartbreak and an illness. :( )
Until November 4, 2007 came when my hands seemed to be itching for some brush and oil paint action….
I am inspired again to paint!
I managed to finish 3 oil paintings in just a day!
I finished E and Kristine around 2am of November 5, while slumped on my bed, and watching teevee at the same time (that’s how multi-tasking I can get! hehe!)
Staying in Batangas for All Saint’s and All Souls Day was a breather for me. Imagine, being offline for a few weeks….away from work, tempting yahoo messenger, friendster, and of course my wordpress blog and friends.
I felt it was about time I finally finish this painting. Very timely too for the intense feeling of passion and commitment that my other half and I have for each other…..even across the miles….
I am open to the fact that not everybody will appreciate a work of art. Some may just nod as if saying, “It’s nice.” Others may just shrug and say, “Not lifelike. The eyes are not proportioned. Or I can do better than that!” Some may be delighted and see more than just a splash of hues or an image……
Whatever you may be thinking, just like in writing, I present to you my work of art not to impress but to express. I hope you can feel me too…..

There is so much emotions in your painting, I like it VERY much, it is a special piece... Also.., the most "accurate" eyes or nose could hardly beat the expression you gave to those eyes and this nose....It's beautiful...bravo
