Drawing - Color Pencil On Paper
The symbols in this drawing are depicting the connection the Native Americans have long understood, between the various life forms on the Earth, and how the people themselves are connected with Nature.
The buffalo skull is painted for the Sun Dance - a Plains traditional annual ceremony that is still practiced today, a celebration of thanksgiving, sacrifice, and renewal. The ceremonial painted tipi depicts an eagle, with the moon cycles, and 2 star constellations on the top. The golden eagle is the messenger to the Great Spirit.
