Description:
This is one of my wildlife, split wood relief carvings. The process involves splitting logs into thin strips, assembling or gluing, and then carving. The gaps and splits are incorporated into the design. This unique approach gives an artistic feel to the work. It also tends to draw in the viewer, encouraging them to complete the scene mentally.
This work depicts an eagle descending quickly from the tree tops, while the cotton tail rabbit flees. The Eagle is carefully carved with feathers delineated in painstaking detail. The background trees are less detailed.
A unique wall decor that should do well in any setting where a wildlife or Eagle scene is prized. The carving is pictured against a neutral grey background and should do well against most wall colours. It is designed to stand out from the wall about 1/4 inch.
