Description
Tobacco barns are a common sight throughout Kentucky. In Calloway County, tucked away in western Kentucky, dark-fired tobacco barns serve both a functional and an aesthetic purpose. They are used to house and cure tobacco. Originally, the barns were sided with wood planks. In the last couple of decades, many of the barns have been covered with metal siding. The siding helps to protect the barns from weathering and covers cracks. The styles of barns vary greatly, as do the structural conditions of them. This barn is in good shape and will beautify the countryside for years to com.
