It is a thought provoking work... perhaps it my sense of how endangered these creatures are in the world and the splatter of red paint that conjures up sights of poachers with chainsaws stealing ivory from live elephants, this image reminds me of the terror of the babies who are very attached to their parents much longer than humans watching their parents butchered... I know it's a gross thought, maybe if the parent were in the picture it would seem different to me, or perhaps playing with a friend... but alone with a background of bright red and yellows abstracts depicts a terrifying sight in my view, I can't move that initial impression of vulnerability of the creature in spite of your intentions and title... I hesitate to even comment what I see because I don't want to spoil anyone else's appreciation from another perspective. It's still excellent work in my view as it evokes extremely emotional response from me.

Draia, I really like your execution and composition in this piece. Very striking and the colors are so sharp and well positioned. Nice job.

I see an elephant too but he's frightened by fire or danger.. going by your title I don't think this was your vision in the painting though.

Draia Coralia replied:

Thank you very much for your oppinion, Melissa. This is my last painting. I think taht there is something missing there but i did not find it yet, that's why i add it to Abstract critiQue group. The elephant is happy , he is not afraid, but it seems that is something wrong there.
