Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
In 2011, I found myself quite by accident doing a series of landscapes. This one won an award in an on-line art show put on by the Light, Space & Time web site. It is a Landscape of the Elkhorn Slough on the Monterey coast . Although I did tinker with the reference photo, the painting actually comes fairly close to it. The Slough itself harbors the largest tract of tidal salt marsh in California outside of San Francisco bay. It provides much-needed habitat for hundreds of species of animal and birds. Also a large concentration of Poison Oak (there are photographs along the trail!). I have always been fascinated by the ocean and I could have spent all day here. It’s a wonderful place to visit.
