Description
My 3 year-old daughter said this was her favorite painting of mine yet so I decided to name it "Emily's Flower." Once again, I have been focusing upon the use of light, shadow, and contrast this year and this piece is no exception. The original composition was much taller but I ended up cropping it back a bit to improve the overall feel. The original is 9.75"x10.75" in size and is painted with Daniel Smith, Rublev, and Sennelier watercolor paints on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper.

Beautiful watercolor painting, Ken. I love the lighting, the value changes you have achieved on the individual petals, and how the background color makes the flower "pop". F/V

Ken, I especially like the way you captured the light hitting the petals! Just beautiful!
