Enchanted Valley In Black And White
Photograph - Photograph
The infamous Tunnel View photograph of Yosemite Valley. I've had many people comment to me that this reminds them of something from Ansel Adams. I would like to openly thank them as I find that one of the highest compliments that I could receive from an image such as this.
Hoenstly I haven't really spent much time studying the master photographers of the past or present. Am I familiar with ansel Adams? Of course. Did I make this with him in mind? Not necessarily so.
I took mulitple exposure of this image and blended them to create the dynamc range shown in this iamge and then digitaly converted into a black and white image.
I love getting up to Yosemite and I especially love getting up there during the winter as the weather is very unpredictable and you never know what kind of photographic oportunities are going to present themselves.
Here you see Bridalveil falls center right. Bridalveil falls is one of the parks major waterfalls.Bridalveil Falls is 617 feet from top to bottom and generally flows year round in the park. The Native Americans believed that breathing in the mist of this waterfall would increase the chance for marraige.
On the left of this image is the base of El Capitan.El Capitan is a granite monolith and is one of the parks major attractions. During the sumer many visitors will sit out in the nearby meadows and try to spot the clombers on the shear walls. This rock formation is almost completey vertical at 90 degress and is 3,000 ft tall.
