Hi Steve, I modeled every nut bolt ad brick but I also painted REAL paint on REAL canvas in order to generate the textures. This is more to the technique which is exclusive to me, I invented it, and can't go into to much detail but yes every brushstroke is by hand.. no filters. I do everything.

the trick Jim is bounce light. Lots are artist don't consider how much light actually bounces off one surface to another picking up subtle colors with it. Having working in 3D for nearly 20 years you discover that this is the needed lighting to make something feel more real. Thomas Kinkade would agree with me, but I'm trying to take it a step further.

Wow Katy that's the kindest thing anyone has ever said about my work thank you so much! The same thing happened in my professional life when Traditional Disney painters didn't want to use computers to paint the cells for animation and as you know.. they either followed suit or lost their jobs. That's not to say traditional oil painting is dead by no means.. I just prefer digital because well.. I don't have to be covered in paint anymore and I'm doing things I could NEVER do in oils. It has an effect that even Thomas Kinkade would say "Illuminates"

Don't ever let anyone tell you that this is not as amazing, or as special as any traditional form of art. It takes as much talent, if not more, to create a work of art using digital techniques. People that buy art in galleries want   something  unique Created by hand especially collectors ,  it requires  different skill  then creating something  by computer. kNow two paintings made by hand  are ever the same. Can the same be said of the software that helped  you produce this  beautiful image .  You will never convince someone who collects hand painted art that this is the same thing. Plus the look and feel are different.

Larry it's actually a new technique, a combination of oil painting techniques and 3d modeling mixed with digital painting techniques. I'd like to refer to this as human generated "art" created with a computer as a tool like any other tool. Calling it simply computer generated makes it sound like the computer painted it and I assure you there aren't that many humans that can do this technique let alone a computer. I just wanted to clarify this because digital artists like myself are often times overlooked because we choose to use a computer in our process. Traditional walk in galleries balk at us as having any artistic value. I'd like to change this point of view.
