Bilbao, Vi - Spain

Whaever you did find, it shrinked your heart with a pang of misery and dakrness...some pain too, for it remembered you about something that is inside of our own heart. The picture is interesting but the edition is supernatural, out of this world, It brings decay out of its daily common sense, and places it inside of the deep structure of Death. A warming and close death. I love it so much Lois. Rosa

Lois Bryan replied:

Rosa, I want to apologize for not responding to your beautiful and absolutely poetic comment ... I sincerely appreciate it ... you create with words what we feel in our hearts ... that's quite a gift!!!!! Thank you!!!

The composite works so well Lois, that sky is the perfect treatment for the old barn. Great work

Thanks so much, Chris .. the sky was that nasty flat white, so that made it easy to get rid of, lol!!! Glad you liked the end result!!

Luray, KS - United States

Holy cow, Lois. This is just over the top beautiful. Not beautiful in the accepted way of what is beautiful, but absolutely beautiful in showing the sadness of seeing a barn, house, tractor, whatever, that at one time was new and vital, and needed, and appreciated. When a person allows the imagination to run free for a moment, it isn't too hard to envision the gratitude and the feeling of being satisfied in having something that would remain so much a part of a person's life for so many years. I see this kind of thing a lot here in Kansas, though I highly doubt I'd ever have the talent to present the depth and feeling as you do. I cannot take photos of a place like this without wondering about the story it could tell. Thank you so much for posting this to Abandoned and Forlorn. f/v featured.

Lois Bryan replied:

Don, your wonderful comment just blows me away ... thank you so very much for seeing INTO the scene. I actually took this on a flat-light day ... but that wasn't what my heart saw ... my heart saw everything you've described. I'm so so glad that I was able to re work it a bit to present the emotion and sadness that I felt as I stood there ... thank you very much.

Lois Bryan replied:

Apologies, Claire, for not responding sooner ... yes, the loss of these wonderful old structures truly represents the loss of a way of life ... Vanishing America. I'm so glad this little image resonated with you .. thank you!!!
