It's an interesting time we live in...........nothing has really changed on the human political front. The "toys" have just gotten slicker.

Johny Deluna replied:

Thanks Paula. Unfortunately things don't change. The war toys just get slicker and more dangerous.

Thank you, Johny. I can tell you do care that people are suffering in the middle east. I think you have created a very effective painting.

Johny Deluna replied:

Thanks Diane - its hard not to think about the middle east these days. We never get the whole story from either side, but we know too many innocent people are dying.

Every government needs an enemy. It has always been his way. Governments can easily control their people by creating fear and hatred towards a common enemy. Even if the enemy is not real. Unfortunately the west is interfering in the middle east because we want oil - not because we really care about the welfare of middle eastern people. We are not bringing peace, we are destabilizing countries and creating more conflict. War has become prime time entertainment. A morality play to show how good 'we' are and how bad 'they' are. It seems that the human cost of war is acceptable as long as the war is on the other side of the ocean. Each drone strike creates more committed enemies of the west. We must be willing to question and criticize our government's actions and real motives or we should not even pretend to have a greater morality than others.
