Description:

Erastus " Deaf" Smith, an expert Deaf scout, spy, and solider for Sam Houston's Republic of Texas Army. He fought at the battle of San Jacinto in 1836. His burning down of Vince's bridge helped to defeat Santa Anna's Army. Painted by Texas artist Mark Barnett in March of 2010.
