Description
I Painted this fresco directly on the wall of my New Jersey home; using latex color tubes water and a quart of white. It measures 8 ft. X 25 ft. I used as a guide an old water color painting from an unknown artist that was in a complete state of deterioration. I had to build a scaffold in order to reach my work. The river that flows through is the Regnitz. The Church, thirteenth Century Saint Peter and Paul which since has lost the Cross and gained a Rooster Weather Vane on the top of its Steeple in the middle of the sixteenth Century and declared Evangelicalism Lutheran. Today Erlangen Bruck is no longer considered a klienen dorf, but a suburb of the city Erlangen. I personally visited this church while serving in Special Forces (Recon) in The Army of The United States and had penned a poem which started, to wit: (There once was a town called Erlangen Bruck; With streets made of sand. so far from New York.) All that has changed now. Everything is paved. No longer is there a Spring to gather water for each household at the town pump. City water is now metered to every household including sewers. Also with the mixture of various people from different cultures now living there; leaving one's door unlocked is a thing of the past.
