My poet . is it thy delight to see thy creation through my eyes
and to stand at the portals of my ears silently to listen to thine own eternal harmony . .
Thy world is weaving words in my mind and thy joy is adding music to them .
Thou givest thyself to me in love and then feelest thine own entire sweetness in me .
The Mysticism of Rabindranath Tagore's 'Gitanjali'
Aloha . I found this beautiful plant growing wild along a roadway in Waiehu .. I rescued it from county mowers who had already cut half the plant down to the ground so obviously never noticing it .. luckily I was able to save the root as well .. I placed this treasure into a crystal vase of fresh water out on our lanai in filtered light in the shade of our trees near the gardens . . the following morning we had a lovely soft misty rain, as we do almost each day .. and as the sun rose the small bud opened displaying this exquisite tiny bloom in the most amazing deep vibrant rich shade of red . it is a lovely Malvaceae . a Hibiscus flower called Hibiscus acetosella . red-leaf hibiscus, false roselle, African rose mallow . and the amazing thing with this lovely fast growing plant is that the entire plant is this beautiful deep shade of red including the leaves . stem . buds . and bloom .. it is so beautiful .. and also this blossom is only about 1 inch in circumference .. it is so small and delicate . a natural beauty so rare .
