Though this is a homage to Endless Summer, it is my own creation using my own photography. (Original here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/surfing-reflections-lisa-knechtel.html) I took this shot of surfers in Tofino and made this graphic image inspired by the famous Endless Summer movie poster designed by John Van Hamersveld - arguably the best graphic movie poster of all time. What an era! So much amazing graphic art was being created. I hope you like my interpretation.
Tofino is the surfing capital of Canada. The waves roll in along 35km of surf able beaches. The water is around 10 degrees C year round with some of the best rides caught during the winter when the surf is definitely up.
Surfing in Tofino took off in the early 70s and still thrives. The cost is wild and has a unique feel to it. I highly recommend a trip to enjoy it.
