Description:
At the completion of this drawing the title did not come as easily as I had hoped. Most titles seem to come directly from the finished painting, as though they are speaking to me. So I titled it "Nude in Conte Crayon". I figured if I waited long enough something would come to me.
The model I used for this drawing is a wonderful person and has the ability to look good in almost any pose she takes. But the thing that amazed me the most is when she is moving around getting ready to continue working; it seems that every movement she makes is a painting. This is very frustrating for me not being able to capture each gesture on canvas.
After living with this drawing in my studio for awhile and looking at the beauty of the human body it came to me that only God could make something so precious and that when he made Eve, naked and without shame, in my mined this is what she must have looked like and so the title did come.
