Sculpture - Bronze
In the first weeks of June the artist rises at daybreak to walk the rocky hills in search of the large white blossoms of the stemless primrose, which have opened during the night. She kneels, crouching low to the ground-hugging plant to breathe deep the sweet fragrance of their heart-shaped petals. Among the cluster of pointy leaves nestle older blossoms, turning pink with age. The irresistible nectar beckons many insects, including a type of true bug with its back marked by a tiny white heart, as if to echo the primrose petals. This is an individual relief from the bronze panel, "Snowy Range Life."
