Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Piece 2 of a two piece set about Spiritual Battles.
In this one, the crow (representing law and judgment) is flying away, the pied cuckoo (representing the sinful flesh) has been killed, crucified in a sense, a heart lies on the altar, given to God, and the doves cuddle together, while the face on the canvas is no longer sad, but looking up, and free from the black "tentacles" that sought to overtake it, it's features are also no longer fading into the background, as it is no longer losing its identity in the midst of the battle, however its exact emotion is somewhat unclear, no longer in despair, but feeling "what" is intentionally left unanswered.
For explanation on the other symbolism, see the description of "Tenebrous Affray".
