Painting - Mixed Media Painting
Sometimes as an experiment to help reach into my inner creative psyche…I like to paint while I’m experiencing a certain emotion. This piece was created when I was “angry”. Naturally I choose to use the color red for “rage” accented by “electric blue”. The design I had in mind with the swirling tentacles lashing out all over the place - was to represent “flying off the handle”...(which I think we all can relate to). It amazed me what unfolded in the artwork when I just let my emotions flow. It was easy to title this piece “Explosion”...because that’s how I was feeling inside. I used my art and design to express an emotion and communicate that emotion to the viewer. Remember "A picture is worth a thousand words". And it’s also true what they say about art being therapeutic…because I felt much better after painting this piece.
