Faerie Lands - Beautiful Morning On The Isle Of Skye

I found Scotland in general to be an amazing and beautiful place. That much should be obvious from my dual trips to Edinburgh and my intense desire to return. But I was still unprepared on my second trip for how much I would love the Scottish Highlands, particularly the lovely Isle of Skye. Skye was just off the charts beautiful. The landscapes were truly larger than life, like something from a long ago book of tales, not reality and yet there I was!
Our guide there told us a lot of Faerie Tales and legends associated with this area of Skye, Sligachan. And standing there in this magical landscape, it seemed obvious where the stories came from in this incredible landscape.
The weather, like all the weather in Scotland, was incredibly variable. During our time on Skye, one minute would be overcast, gray, and misty. The next minute, the sun came out for a glorious moment. One had to be ready with the camera because they could be brief. This moment, which has been described to me since as a gloaming, was one such instance. It was early in the morning and the sun had only made a few hints at its presence. And suddenly it lit up the skies from below the horizon. The gap between lit the sun in which literally illuminated the heavy clouds above... That I was at the bottom of this little creek when it happened was a pure stroke of luck.
I'd love to return to the Isle of Skye one day. The only problem is I'm not sure if they could make me leave again.
