Farewell To Winter
Photograph - Photography
The Iveragh Peninsula is located in County Kerry in Southern Ireland. It is the largest peninsula in southwestern Ireland. A mountain range, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, lies in the centre of the peninsula. Carrauntoohil, its highest mountain, is also the highest peak in Ireland. The Ring of Kerry, a popular tourist trail, circles the coastline, beginning and ending at Killarney, just east of the peninsula.
Waterville Lake has been home to generations of anglers. The lake is located on Southern end of the peninsula and is famous for its salmon and trout fishing. In the middle of the lake is Church Island. On the island there is the remains of an old Irish monastery dating back to around the 12th century built in Romanesque style.
