AMERICAN BALD EAGLE
I have had the opportunity over the past few years to photograph America’s National Emblem, the American Bald Eagle along with several years of their young being hatched.
I have witnessed the first flight out of their nest and watched as they tried valiantly to fly around the tree and land for the very first time.
Once I remember the fledgling tried to land but didn’t have the balance he needed and grabbed the limb only to swing upside down and hang there for several minutes before dropping to a lower branch and grabbing a new hold and repeating this for three times finally landing in the small creek. He never gave up he keep hopping up the creek bed flying a little each time until he finally made it back to the safety of the trees.
At this particular spot I was able to position myself about 80 feet from the nest and at the same level as the height of the nest because I was on a cliff face looking straight at the nest. From there I was able to garner several great photos because I could hide in my portable blind and photograph everything going on straight ahead.
I just wanted to share this photo of America’s model bird which depicts The Great Seal Emblem of America as the she came straight at me over the fields. Eagles are usually photographed around the
lakes and big rivers, but this is the second year this pair raised their young in the Country and it just reminds me of our country and how we need to once again develop the strength of the American eagle and pull our Country back together.
