Thank's sue! To texturize the field I mixed Acrylic with heavy duty repair plaster... I used galvanized wire which I "sewed" directly into the canvas using epoxy glue on the flip side so that the canvas doesn't rip... It's sold now, but it's a fine painting. I'm still proud of it.

Out of curiosity, does this refer to the character/place in Sandman of the same name?

Actually, no... the title is inspired from a song from a Canadian band called the Tragically Hip. The song in question is... yup, you guessed it: Fiddler's Green (featuring a sad tremolo fiddle... lovely song... rainy... listened to it a lot while painting this piece)... the album is called 'Road Apples'
