Description
A father takes the children out on the village hills for some sledding. In this painting the Church is St Bartholomew's which dates back to the Norman period. The name of the village Fingest derives from the Anglo Saxon 'Thinghurst' which means 'wooded hill where assemblies are made'. Some scenes for the movie Monuments Men were filmed in the village. A few thousand Christmas cards were made of this painting approx 20 years ago. This is the first time that the painting has been offered for art prints. The original is in a private collection.
