Firmament Cracked #1 Confusing Dark And Light
Digital Art - Digital Painting
Sometimes you can't tell the difference between good and bad, dark and light--especially when they are ensconced in institutions or roles which you believe to be reputable and honest. Public opinion is no clue sometimes. There is a lot of contradiction in society's attitudes. For example: Anyone who cleans the floor at a school must be checked by the police and would not be permitted near children if he had a conviction for violent behaviour, yet a man convicted of nearly killing his wife and threatening to kill his children in the past is often granted unsupervised overnight visits. A woman walking alone at night would be considered foolish to put herself in harm's way, yet she may be considered a good person if she returns to a violent husband because he promises not to hit her again and says he wants to repair their marriage. It is not easy where we grow up to know whom to trust, and many people are very different behind closed doors. Some of the kindest people may be found in places where 'nice' people would not want to go, and some of the worst, as we can see from the news stories, are in the very elite and most respected social circles. Let us protect the innocent and let us teach them how to be careful when we are not there to protect them. Let us not delude ourselves into thinking that we or they will always be able to tell the difference between dark and light.
