Description
The first snow of fall, when the bright autumn leaves are still clinging to the branches of the trees is the inspiration of this landscape tree painting. The air is cool and damp and the maples aren't sure whether to hold on or to let go. October and November are the months of transition as they move into their winter mode of sleep. Only after the first hard freeze do they finally give up, drop their colorful clothing, and sleep until spring.
This painting was created with professional grade oil paints on an 8x10 inch hardboard panel.
