One of the best aspects of this work is the subtle touch of the vinyl table cloth in the bottom right corner. Not only does it make me feel like I am actually there, but it adds a narrative to the painting. Instead of the waitress just being someone behind the counter, now I am desperate to get her attention for a refill on my coffee. Impressive painting!
